If you’ve started researching Disney resorts, you’ve probably seen the words “Club Level” and immediately noticed the price jump.
The question isn’t whether Club Level is nice.
It is.
The real question is whether it’s worth the extra money for your family.
As someone who tends to ask, “Would I rather spend that money on a room upgrade or a special experience?” I look at Club Level a little differently than many Disney fans.
Here’s my honest breakdown.

What Is Disney Club Level?
Club Level is essentially Disney’s version of a concierge floor.
When you book a Club Level room at select Deluxe Resorts, you gain access to a private lounge that offers:
- Continental breakfast
- Midday snacks
- Evening appetizers and small plates
- Desserts
- Beer and wine in the evenings
- Specialty coffee, tea, soda, and water throughout the day
- Cast Members who can assist with reservations and planning
Think of it as having a comfortable home base inside your resort where food and drinks are available throughout the day.
The Biggest Benefit: Convenience
For me, the biggest selling point isn’t actually the food.
It’s convenience.
If you’re traveling with toddlers, grandparents, or anyone who needs midday breaks, having a lounge nearby can be incredibly helpful.
Instead of purchasing snacks every few hours, you can stop by the lounge for a quick bite.
Need a coffee before rope drop? Grab one.
Kids suddenly hungry? Grab something.
Need a bottle of water before heading back to the parks? Done.
The convenience factor is where Club Level shines.
The Food Is Better Than You Might Expect
Let’s clear up a common misconception.
Club Level is not a replacement for dining reservations.
The evening offerings are more like substantial appetizers than full dinners.
Some nights you may feel perfectly satisfied. Other nights you’ll still want dinner afterward.
Breakfast is usually pastries, fruit, oatmeal, cereals, and basic hot items.
The food is good.
It’s just not enough that I’d book Club Level solely to avoid paying for meals.

When Club Level Makes Sense
You’re Already Staying Deluxe
If you’re debating between a Moderate Resort and a Deluxe Resort with Club Level, I probably wouldn’t jump all the way to Club Level. But if you’re already planning to stay at a Deluxe Resort, the upgrade can feel more reasonable.
The incremental jump is easier to justify than moving up multiple resort categories.
You Plan Resort Time
Many families spend all day in the parks.
If that’s you, Club Level may not get much use.
If you’re planning pool days, afternoon naps, or resort afternoons, you’ll likely get much more value from it.

You’re Traveling with Grandparents
Our recent Disney trip was multigenerational, and one thing I noticed is that everyone moved at different speeds.
Grandparents may want downtime.
Parents may need naps for babies.
Older kids may want to keep going.
Club Level gives everyone a comfortable gathering place throughout the day.
You Love Convenience
Some people love hunting for the best value. Others love making travel easy.
Neither is wrong.
If removing small daily decisions sounds relaxing, Club Level may be worth every penny.

When I’d Skip Club Level
You’re Spending Every Minute in the Parks
If you’re rope dropping every day and returning after fireworks, you’ll barely see the lounge.
At that point you’re paying for benefits you won’t use.
You Already Have Dining Reservations
Many Disney families schedule character breakfasts, table service meals, and specialty dining experiences.
If you’re eating around the parks all day, the Club Level food becomes less valuable.
You’re Choosing Between Club Level and Experiences
This is where I usually land.
If the choice is:
- Club Level
- A fireworks dessert party
- A VIP tour
- A special character meal
- A behind-the-scenes tour
- An upgraded cruise excursion later in the year
I’m probably choosing the experience.
Those are the things my family talks about years later.
My Favorite Club Level Use Case
If I were booking Club Level, I’d do it for a shorter trip.
Maybe a two or three night stay at a Deluxe Resort before or after a longer vacation. You get the luxury experience, plenty of lounge access, and don’t have to pay the premium for an entire week.
This is especially appealing if you’re celebrating:
- Anniversaries
- Birthdays
- Babymoons
- First Disney trips
- Multigenerational vacations

So… Is Club Level Worth It?
My answer is:
Sometimes.
If you’re a resort-focused traveler who values convenience, snacks, drinks, and a quieter place to relax, Club Level can absolutely be worth the extra cost.
If you’re a park warrior who spends sunrise to fireworks inside the parks, I’d probably save the money.
Personally, I’m usually asking myself the same question I use for almost every travel decision:
Would I rather have this upgrade, or would I rather use that money to create a memory?
Sometimes the upgrade is the memory. Most of the time, I’d rather put those dollars toward an experience my family will still be talking about years from now.
